Scrapkit of choice - I used the awesome “Dominated” from Tantrum, which can be purchased here: http://tantrumtags.com/scraps/Scraps.html
You will need 2 coordinating papers, double sided frame, accents of choice, overlay for border.
Tube or tubes of choice – I am using artwork that is © Amberly Berendson, harpyqueen.deviantart.com. If you use her work, be sure to credit her properly and follow her TOU. You can find her tubes and TOU at http://artistthatallow.blogspot.com/2007/08/amberley-berendson.html. Be sure to use tubes from the same artist!
Mask of choice – I am using MontiMaskStripes, which can be found here: http://www.montispixelplayground.com
Find the link to the Masks page, then scroll down to find the mask you want. This whole site is awesome, so be sure to check it out!
Font of choice – I am using Yataghan. You can find it here: http://www.dafont.com/yataghan.font?psize=l
Plug-In – Optional - dsb flux for animation. You can find info on this plug-in here: http://www.photoshop-filters.com/html/dsb_flux.htm

First, open a new canvas 600 x 600. Then, flood fill white.
Copy and paste your frame onto your canvas. I am using frame 4 from the kit.
Below your frame layer, copy and paste a paper of choice as a new raster. I am using blue paper raster 6 from the kit.
Copy and paste one of your tubes (or you can use the same one for each step) onto your canvas. Move and resize it so that it fits inside one side of your frame. Move your tube layer above your paper, but below the frame. Save now.
Activate your frame layer. Using your Magic Wand tool, mode “Add” and tolerance and feather set to zero, click inside your frame. Only click inside the side of the frame with your tube under it. Go to Selections>Modify>Expand by 2, then Selections>Invert. Then click on your tube layer and hit delete. Selections>None. Save.
Back on your tube layer, go to Adjust>
Copy and paste another one of your tubes (or you can use the same one for each step) onto your canvas. Move and resize it so that it fits inside the other side of your frame. Move your tube layer above your paper, but below the frame. Save now.
Activate your frame layer. Using your Magic Wand tool, mode “Add” and tolerance and feather set to zero, click inside your frame. Only click inside the side of the frame with your newly pasted tube under it. Go to Selections>Modify>Expand by 2, then Selections>Invert. Then click on your new tube layer and hit delete. Selections>None. Save.
Back on your newest tube layer, go to Adjust>
Hide your background and your paper layer. Right-click on one of the visible layers, choose Merge>Merge Visible. Rename this layer “Frame.” Unhide your other layers. Now, on the layers palette – make your “Frame” layer Blend Mode “Multiply.” Save.
Copy and paste your last tube onto your canvas. This should be the top layer. Resize and move your frame layer and your tube until they fit nicely together one the canvas, leaving room for your name. Add a drop shadow to your tube. Go to Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow. I am using settings 5, 5, 80, 8, color black.
Activate your frame layer. Using your Magic Wand tool, mode “Add” and tolerance and feather set to zero, click OUTside of your frame. Go to Selections>Modify>Expand by 2. Then click on your paper layer and hit delete. Selections>None. Now, add a drop shadow to this paper layer. I used 0, 0, 100, 15, color black. Save again.
Right-click on your “Frame” layer, choose Merge>Merge Down to merge it with the paper layer that you just modified.
Now, add some accents. I added three butterfly buttons from the kit. Depending on what accents you use, and where they are at, you may or may not want to add a drop shadow. I added the same drop shadow I used for my tube. I also merged the butterflies into one layer, then I merged that layer with my frame layer.
If you are using the kit, copy and paste your “Blue Glitter Overlay.” This layer should be just below your main tube layer. Save.
Add one or more flowers to some of the corners. I used one of the flowers from the kit, resized it and added it to the bottom left corner. I then duplicated it, and with the duplicate layer activated, Image>Mirror and then Image>Flip. Then, merge the duplicate flower with the original one and add a drop shadow. I used 0, 0, 100, 5, color black. Save.
Copy and paste a new paper above your white background layer. Add a mask of choice to this layer. I am using MontiMaskStripes, with source luminance, fit to canvas, and hide all mask checked, invert transparency UNchecked. Now, right-click on your mask layer and hit delete. When prompted, answer yes to merge the mask into the layer below it. Then, right-click on the masked layer and choose “Ungroup layers.”
Now, before you add your copyright info and other text, resize the tag to its final size. First, crop off any excess around the edges. Then, choose Image>Resize. Under “Advanced settings,” be sure “Lock aspect ratio” and “Resize all layers” are both CHECKED. Save again.
Now add your copyright info, license number (if applicable), and tagger’s mark (if you use one).
For your name, set your foreground color to black. Set your background color to a color from your tube or paper, or you can use a glitter fill. I am using the blue glitter from the kit as my pattern, set to a scale of 25. I am using the font Yataghan, stroke 3, size 100.
Convert your text layer to a raster layer.
If you are not going to animate, add a drop shadow and you are done! If you want to animate your tag, continue below.
Open Animation Shop and then go back to PSP.
With your Magic Wand tool using the same settings as before, click on the black outline around each letter. This is much easier to do if you zoom in on your tag. Once you have the entire outline selected, go to Selections>Invert. Now, change your Magic Wand mode to “Remove” and click anywhere outside of your text. Now, all that should be selected is the inner part of your text.
Go to Adjust>Sharpness>Sharpen More. Now, Selections>Promote Selection to Layer. Then Selections>None.
I am animating my glitter overlay and my text. You can do one or the other or both. If you want to only animate one, just ignore the other instructions. J
Duplicate your glitter overlay layer twice, for a total of three layers. Rename these layers overlay1, overlay2, overlay3.
Do the same for your promoted text layer, naming them name1, name2, name3. Doesn’t matter which layer is which.
Now, activate overlay1. Apply dsb flux>Bright Noise, intensity 60, direction “mix.”
Repeat for overlay2, but this time click on the word Mix before you hit OK.
Repeat for overlay3, name1, name2, and name3. Be sure you click the word Mix each time you apply the effect.
Hide overlay2, overlay3, name2, and name3.
Now, go to Edit>Copy Special>Copy Merged. Go to Animation Shop and Edit>Paste>As New Animation.
Back in PSP, hide overlay1 and name1. Unhide overlay2 and name2.
Now, go to Edit>Copy Special>Copy Merged. Go to Animation Shop and Edit>Paste>After Current Frame.
Back in PSP, hide overlay2 and name2. Unhide overlay3 and name3.
Now, go to Edit>Copy Special>Copy Merged. Go to Animation Shop and Edit>Paste>After Current Frame.
Save it as a GIF and you are done!
I would love to see your results – email them to tutsbyj0eswife@gmail.com. I will displaying them in a gallery on my fotki site.
