Scrapkit of choice - I used the awesome FREEBIE “Believe” from PascaleA, which can be found here: http://pelin-s-designs.blogspot.com/2008/02/believe-freebie.html
This is a full size kit, so be warned – it’s a monster file! I went thru and resized everything when I first downloaded it.
You will need 1 paper for background, 1 frame, 1 corner element (optional), 1 overlay (optional)
Tube of choice – I am using artwork that is © Maxine Gadd, www.fataraworld.com. You MUST have a license to use her work. More info can be found at www.mypsptubes.com.
Mask of choice – I am using a mask called “butterflies-oval” which I have not been able to track back to its source. You can google that and try to find it, or you can substitute an round mask that you already have.
Font of choice – I am using Chopin Script, which can be found here: http://www.fontspace.com/dieter-steffmann/chopin-script
Plug-In – Optional – EyeCandy, Gradient Glow for text. You can get EyeCandy 3.1 for free here: http://pircnet.com/downloads.html (This version is distributed for free with the permission of Alien Skin.) This is a great plug-in that you can use over and over again!

First, open a new canvas 600 x 600. Then, flood fill white.
Choose a paper that compliments your tube. I am using Back001 from the kit. Copy and paste this as a new layer.
Now, with your paper layer active, go to Effects>Reflection Effects>Kaleidoscope, with preset Settings “X small”.
With your paper layer still active, apply your mask. I am using “butterflies-oval”. Be sure that “Source luminance” is checked, “Fit to canvas” is checked, “Hide all mask” is checked, and “Invert transparency” is UNchecked.
Now, right-click on your mask layer and choose “Delete.” Then choose “Yes” to merge the mask into the layer below. Right click on the merged layer and choose “Merge,” then choose “Merge Group.” You can rename this new layer “Mask Layer” if you’d like. Save your progress.
With your Mask Layer still active, apply a drop shadow. Go to Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow. I am using 0, 0, 100, 1, color black.
Choose a frame. I am using Frame 4 from the kit. Depending on the size of your frame, you may need to resize. I resized to 650x650. To resize, choose Image>Resize. Under “Advanced settings,” be sure “Lock aspect ratio” is checked, and “Resize all layers” is checked. Copy and paste it onto your canvas, it should be the top layer. Save.
Now, you will want to change the blend mode on your frame layer. Depending on the colors in your tube, and the effect you want, you may want to use a different mode than I do. Try them all – you will be surprised at how many different looks you get! I am using Blend Mode: Difference, with Opacity lowered to 85%. Save.
Copy and paste your tube onto the canvas. Arrange it where you would like. Apply a drop shadow of choice. Go to Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow. I am using settings 3, 3, 70, 3, color black.
Duplicate your tube. Hide your original tube for now. With your duplicate tube active, go to Image>Mirror. Move your tube so that it fits inside the frame area. Depending on the tube, you may want to resize it some. If so, you may need to sharpen it by going to Adjust>Sharpness>Sharpen. Save.
Unhide your original tube so you can see how it will look/what will be showing of the duplicate. Rearrange as necessary.
Activate your frame layer. With your Magic Wand tool set to Mode: Add, tolerance and feather 0, click inside the frame. Go to Selections>Modify>Expand by 1 pixel. Then, Selections>Invert. Now click on your duplicate tube layer and hit delete. Selections>None. Save.
Still working with the duplicate tube layer, play with the Blend Mode. I am using Luminance (Legacy), and I have lowered opacity to 55%.
If you are using the Believe kit, you can add the corner elements like I have. I am using Corner002. You will need to resize it to fit your canvas. Then, when you have it sized right and moved into place in one of the corners, duplicate it.
With the duplicate active, go to Image>Mirror. Duplicate again. On that one go to Image>Flip. Duplicate again. On that one choose Image>Mirror.
(OR you could download “Simple: Top Left Mirror” You paste your image in the top left corner, then it will duplicate it in the other corners, saving you the extra steps!)
Merge the 4 corners into 1 layer, and apply a drop shadow. Go to Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow. I am using settings 0, 0, 70, 10, color black.
Move your corners so that they are below your tube layers, but above everything else. Save.
Optional – copy and paste your overlay. I am using the one from the kit, resized to 600x600. I am pasting it below the corner elements, but above the frame layer & mask layer. I also lowered the opacity to 50%. Save.
Now, before you add your copyright info and other text, resize the tag to its final size. First, crop off any excess around the edges. Then, choose Image>Resize. Under “Advanced settings,” be sure “Lock aspect ratio” and “Resize all layers” are both CHECKED. Save again.
Now add your copyright info, license number (if applicable), and tagger’s mark (if you use one).
For your name, set your foreground color to black. Set your background color to a dark color from your tube. I am using #19596e. I am using font Chopin Script, Stroke 1, Size 72. You may want to align your text. I used Objects>Align>
If you have EyeCandy 3.1, convert your text to a raster layer. Apply EyeCandy:Glow with these settings: Width: 6, Opacity 100, Opacity Dropoff: Fat, Color: white. Save.
If you don’t have EyeCandy, you can change the layer properties to show an outer glow on your text layer.
Save and you’re done!
